Greta & David

I met Greta at a family wedding back in February that I had helped with.  We instantly bonded and discussed all the vendors she was looking at for her upcoming wedding.  Much to my surprise, by Monday, I had received an email from her asking if I was interested in joining her list of vendors with my flowers and coordination.
So, a few weekends ago her and David had a small wedding ceremony in Red Butte Garden's Fragrance Garden.  The ceremony was beautiful and was followed by a great luncheon reception in the Orangarie.  Here are a few pictures from the reception:

For half of the centerpieces, we used a mixture of flowers including hydrangea, cymbidium orchids, kale, roses and her family flower, irises.

For the other half, we did a shorter vase filled with moss, lisianthus, roses and cymbidium orchids.  Also, every table had a plate of these huge SQUARE cupcakes, for desert.  They were delicious!

Red Butte's Orangarie is one of my favorite reception sites in Salt Lake, it is so beautiful.  And, I love how purple looks in there!

Greta made the seating cards herself, which I think turned out great.

This was such a neat napkin fold and each one held a seating card for each guest.  I should also mention that Utah Food Services catered the reception as well as provided the beautiful violet linens.

Greta's bouquet was purple hydrangea surrounded by a layer of fragrant lavender, purple roses and a collar of lamb's ear.

Since each table already had cupcakes for desert, they had a small square cake placed atop a tall vase filled with green cymbidium orchids.  This cake and the cupcakes were made by Janell at One Sweet Slice.

Greta surprised David with this groom's cake.  (Yes, that is all cake!) She also had all the wait-staff wearing the same ball caps throughout the event.  It was such a cute personal touch! This was made by Lisa Evans.  (I have her info if you are interested in having her make a cake for your event)

I just love this picture.  She made such a beautiful bride.

Couples Baby Shower

Couple's wedding showers have been around for a while now, but now couple's baby showers are getting more and more popular. This is a fun way to include the expecting father and allow his friends to help him celebrate the new addition. Recently, I was lucky enough to help host a Couple's Baby Shower for some of our close friends, Saul and Ericka.  So, I thought I would share a few of the detail pictures from it.  Enjoy!

A larger floral arrangement adds some pink decor to the appetizer table.

Although a bit time-consuming, adding special touches (such as cocktail garnishes here) will catch your guests' attention and can help reiterate your party's theme or colors.

A simple centerpiece in pink hydrangea, roses and tulips.

Don't throw away your extra flowers, use them to make small arrangements for the buffet, restroom or on an entry table.

Carrying out a long tradition of cigars for the father-to-be will keep the men entertained as the women open gifts and small talk about all things baby.
